Choosing drone motors comes down to three numbers: stator size, KV and the propeller you plan to spin. This range covers FPV racing, long-range and heavy-lift builds from 4S to 12S, with thrust data published for every motor we ship.

Brushless Motors for Drone Builds: How to Choose

A motor is sized by its stator: 2207 for a 5-inch freestyle quad, 2807 or 3112 for long range, 4215 and 5315 for heavy lift and agricultural platforms. Start with the propeller, choose the stator that can turn it, then set the KV for your cell count.

KV, Stator Size and Propeller Matching

KV is RPM per volt with no load. Higher KV suits smaller propellers and lower cell counts; lower KV gives more torque per amp, which is what keeps a large propeller efficient in the air.

FPV Racing and Freestyle Motors

The 5-inch class runs 1700 to 2200KV on 4S to 6S with props up to 5x4.5x3. These motors are built for throttle response, so current draw and cooling matter as much as peak thrust.

Long-Range and Cinelifter Motors

Long-range builds use 1200 to 1500KV on 7-inch props and 900 to 1200KV on 8 to 9 inch. Lower KV keeps the cruise throttle low, which is what actually extends flight time.

Heavy-Lift and Agricultural Drone Motors

Payload platforms run 380 to 650KV on 6S to 12S with large propellers. Check the thrust table per axis before you size the power system.

OEM, Custom KV and Bulk Supply

Custom KV, shaft size, cable length, connector, logo and packaging are available on factory orders, from sample validation through repeat bulk shipments.

Frequently asked questions

What size motor do I need for a 7-inch drone?

A 2807-class stator at 1200 to 1500KV on 6S is the usual match, turning a 7x3.5x3 propeller.

How do I choose the KV for a drone motor?

Set the propeller and cell count first, then pick the KV that keeps the cruise throttle low. Bigger propellers need lower KV.

Do you supply drone motors in bulk or as OEM orders?

Yes. We supply samples for validation and then repeat bulk orders with custom KV, connectors and packaging.

What is the difference between an FPV motor and a long-range motor?

An FPV motor is wound for response and peak thrust on small propellers; a long-range motor runs lower KV and larger propellers for efficiency.
