Large drone motors are sized by payload. This range covers cinelifter and heavy-lift platforms with 4215, 4315, 4320, 4720 and 5315 class stators on 6S to 12S.
Payload Math: Thrust per Axis
A safe multirotor flies at roughly half its maximum thrust. Work out the all-up weight, divide by four, and double it to get the thrust per motor you need.
Stator Size and Weight Trade-offs
A larger stator gives more torque and heat capacity but adds mass. Past a point the extra grams cost more flight time than the extra thrust returns.
ESC and Battery Sizing
Heavy-lift systems draw high current at low voltage. Size the ESC from the thrust table and use a pack whose continuous rating covers the hover current with margin.
Cinelifter vs Industrial Setups
Cinelifters prioritise smooth control for camera work; industrial platforms prioritise endurance and payload. The stator class is similar, the KV and propeller are not.
OEM and Bulk Supply
Custom KV, shaft, cable and connector options are available on factory orders.
Frequently asked questions
How much thrust do I need to lift 5kg?
For a quadcopter, plan around 10kg of total thrust, so roughly 2.5kg per motor at full throttle.
What size motor for a heavy-lift drone?
4215 or 5315 class motors on 6S to 12S with large propellers cover most heavy-lift builds.
Is 12S better than 6S for heavy lift?
Higher voltage reduces current for the same power, which means less heat in the wiring and ESC.
Do you supply heavy-lift motors in bulk?
Yes, with samples first and repeat bulk orders after validation.
